Hi people!! just ended my School of Humanities Freshman Orientation Camp on Wednesday. it was a 3 days 2 night camp (frm 13th- 15th April) and i did not really enjoy it... lol. woke up at 7 on the day of the camp, went to report to Lecture Theater 28 at 830. felt very nervous and scary cos i do not know anyone and Huideng did not answer my calls. enter the LT and saw many many people, seperated into 4 colours: red, orange, blue and green. I was in the green house and huideng was in was in orange house:( sat in the LT for 1hour++ waiting for latecomers. after having to wait so long, my nervousness soon became sianess... didnt know which sub group i was in till they gave out the camp tee. so my house name was Inyo and my sub-group was Taiga. huideng's house was Keala and sub-group name was Rubbles.. super confusung cos we were grouped into 4 different houses with 4 different sub-groups. there was 13 girls and 2 guys in my sg excluding the 2 female group leaders.. first day was quite boring. after everyone came, we went to put our 'luggages' in The Loft and went for activities!! The Loft is an apartment for us to stay in, the place is quite nice cos have beds, fans, air conditioning, sofa, tea table, fridge, clothes hangers etc.... anyway, its like a house. we dont spend much time in there though, activities ended at 12midnight EVERYDAY so.... everyone was very worn out at the end of the day and we have to fight for toilet to bathe too. lol. Started with the normal ice breaker games and those introduction games. the seniors were super enthusiastic, they shouted like siao and taught us cheers. i made a friend too, not same course as me though, but i like her. haha. both of us were like super un-enthusiastic, like we are an individual group, keeping so quiet and all. haha, while others were like so crazy.( but not ALL exactly) time seemed to pass so slow during day 1. played games and ran around the school like siao kia, and the school is like super huge. assembled in a room where the leaders taught everyone a mass dance, Indian Dance. cos our camp theme was Suvivor and Bollywood. very fun and funny too. lunch was at around 1.30pm and we had rice with cabbage and chicken wing, a packet of chili sauce and lemon tea. yeah. then continued with games and cheers, but my sg was like the lousiest, we lost in almost EVERY games we played. got blow ping pong ball on flour game, answer question if not opponent will go into your team game, throw water bombs at opponent game, tie 3 persons feet tgt and use feet to take things from water gameand i forgot liao. haha. then cheer also cheer so soft, cos of calm and composed people like me!! LOL! dinner was rice with harsh brown, kang kong and a fried thing... (i forgot what is it.) after dinner at 8, the 4 houses were seperated into 2, orange and blue will go for night games first and then green and red will stay for discussion for the camp fire night. then after 2 hours exchange. got use lipstick and draw face game, throw paper balls at each other, wear wet tee shirt and pants game, 2 person eat hanging apple game and use candle to burn people's web game, which included water bombing... i didnt protect the web at all, just stand by the side and watch out for water bombs, haha. saw a senior throw a water bomb at another senior and said " its for my personal favor" or smth like that. hahaha, then the other guy didnt know, so funny. he was like "ouch!" when the bomb hit him. haha. went back to The Loft at only 12.15 am. showered the first and showered real fast. slept at 2 and woke up at 7. 50am... proceeded the 'childcare', the room which all the group assembled and leaders gave instructions... played a game of coin passing before breakfast, beehoon with a fishball. proceeded to play treasure hunt in school for clues for The Amazing Race. played games and cheered again... then, out for The Amazing Race. First stop: Kallang Indoor Stadium. had to form the word HUMANITIES with our fingers, arms then body. but when we were forming half way, a security guard came and chased us out. cos we were doing it under the survillence camera!!XD. then the security guard nagged about getting permission from the management and all.. but to the seniors, i have a nonchalant face though... cos not really keen about the activity also. haha. so bad. then went out lor. do the tasks and bye bye. had to walk all the way out to bus stop which is so far and the weather was so HOT!! while our gl and 2 of the girls cabbed to Mustafa. we had to bus to Dolby Ghaut and then cab to Mustafa as we could not get a cab at the Indoor Stadium. went to eat Roti Prata for lunch at about 3pm. The prata shop uncle was super blur as we are a big group and ordered alot which he could not remember. haha. he had difficulties too when we were paying up too. poor uncles... ate a mushroom cheese prata and a kosong prata. didnt manage to finish them though. too full. the task for us at Little India was to get 4 FAMILIES to cheer with us... funny right? then we just got 4 persons to say "Go Taiga" with us. haha, a few ask whether they are saying it for Tiger Beer or not. haha. but they are very nice too, acceded to our stupid request. haha. left for Habour Front next. went to Vivo City. our task was to dance mass dance for 5 random people. it was absolutely embarassing!! but luckily one of the girls' friendS happened to be there. soit was okay la. then we went 'shoping' at Daiso for the camp fire things. only bought flowers and face paint. reached school at about 5.15pm. assembled at the chilcare again and back to The Loft to change into our camp tee shirt. our performance for the camp fire was quite lame. 7 had to pose as models while others dance. yay! campfire night! but then campfire no fire, because the field was made of artificial plastic grass. lol. then next, 4 hours of performance from the group leaders, station masters and the different groups from the different houses. my house had our faces painted. three lines on our cheeks, are being clawed by a green paw cat, or green cat whiskles. haha, a pity that i didnt take any photos. and during one of the performance, i actually saw a SHOOTING STAR first time in my life!!! unbelievable!! it was absolutely stunning! Didnt manage to make a wish after seeing it as it ended SO FAST!! maybe 1 second or less than that. anyway, my group was the last to perform, so we performed at around 11.45pm, then after that they talked abit and it was 12 am to 12.30am!! They blasted music and we all danced!! we danced the mass dance too, the INDIAN MASS DANCE!! so funny. but it was all dark because the lights were off. then after some instructions and mass cheers, the campfire successfully ended!!! it was fun, enjoyable and creative, but most importantly, i saw a shooting star!:) headed back to The Loft to wash up and slept at 2 am, woke up at 6.30am the next day. Packed our things back into our bags and went to the 'childcare centre' for breakfast. annouced the different winners of the camp after breakfast. Best cheering house went to Keala, and the rest i forgot already. and the WINNER is............. INYO!!! YIPEE! so shocking la, cos my group practically lost every game we played and we cheered very softly, so it must be the work of the other 3 groups... haha. they all enthu like siao and cheered super loud. Proceeded to take house photos and camp photos, very fun too... the camp leaders were very funny as they taught us what to pose for the pictures. after that, we were told to go get our bags from The Loft and unfortunately, it rained!! we were so lucky, it did not rain on the first 2 days and chose to rain on the day when we break camp... lol. but anyway, we still had to stay back for the induction programme till 2pm. the induction programme quite stupid la, only talk talk talk, talk crap and such. still got what motivational talk, the speaker also so strange one... we were then seperated into our courses and i met Huideng and her new friends!! talked abit during lunch, buffet lunch somemore... after lunck, more talking and then end of induction programme! yay, there was this optional tour but i didnt bother to go cos i bag was frigging heavy!! Left school with Huideng after that and she helped me hail a cab before she walked to the bus stop( so sweet!). ask her to cab with me then she didnt want to, stubborn girl. on the supposedly short journey back home, there was jam!!! 3pm+ got jam??!! it was oil leakage on the road and the firemen were cleaning the road... so my supposedly $5+ cab fare became $7+.... i'm just too lucky!!! yay, glad that camp was over and school is starting real soon!!!
