Family Gatherings over the weekends <3 Both on Saturday and Sunday! Saturday was my paternal grandmother's birthday and it was my maternal grandfather's birthday on Sunday. Yay, i love such gathering cause it means catching up session and pig out sessions!! XD Saturday was in my house, therefore, no need to prepare anything except to eat! As night falls, relatives came to my house! It was a mass catching up session between cousins and us, uncles and aunties with mom and dad. And of course mahjong session, my granny's all-time favourite activity ;) She enjoys playing mahjong so much that she can survive without sleep, food or toileting.. LOL. We had steamboat for that day as dad thought that it it would be more 'cozy' and warm for everyone to be eating from the same pot. We had plenty of food that day, apart from the large variety of steamboat ingredients: abalone, vegetables, fishcakes, prawns, scallops, fish, tofu, chicken, mushrooms... there were also pasta, satays with ketupat (rice cakes), chicken wings, crayfish.. OMG! makes me salivate thinking all about them again.. haha. Didn't really took photos during dinner as we were all busy eating, we spent about 1 hour eating while catching up.. it was fun!! Then, comes the highlight of the night! The cake cutting ceremony! where my dad made us sing happy birthday song for 3-4 times, both in English and Mandarin, and the last time in Cantonese. haha. Then we finally got to eat the cake.. And also our photo taking session!! LOL. Here are the pictures!!

Sunday- Maternal grandfather's birthday party @ Pulau Ubin
The party was held at Pulau Ubin, and compared to my grandmother's, it was a really grand and huge party!! My family transformed into superwomen and superman that day cause we had to transport sooo many things there! All the way from the west to the east of Sg! We bought 2 cakes over- 1 huge longevity bun shaped cake and another big mango mousse cake. In addition, bought so many ingredients for the barbecuing too. Not forgetting fruits and longevity buns too! We had a really hard time transporting all of the things, but for the sake of our grandfather.. We must do it! haha. There were so many people present on that day, and of course, massive amount of FOOD! There was catering buffet, barbecue chicken wings, satays, hot dogs, crabs, fish, sweet potatoes, corns and the list goes on. We had so much food on that day. Pure happiness! The cake cutting session was so noisy and crowded, and we had 3 cakes!! The longevity bun cake, the mango mousse cake, and a chocolate cake from Awfully chocolate! Imagine the calories that I took in that day!! @#@# COUNTLESS! haha. Glad that everyone was happy on that day but we had to leave home early as my parents had a dinner to attend to. hehe! I <3 family gatherings!!
