Pineapple

Hello! Just to dedicate this post to my favourite fruit! The Pineapple!! "Who lives in the pineapple under the sea?" -Spongebob Square pants!! teehee!! I adore most fruits generally, but recently, I've developed a liking for pineapple recently, it's kind of weird but it's true!! I can have pineapple everyday after my meals! That's how much I like eating pineapples! I just had a piece of pineapple before doing up this post ~


I searched up on some interesting facts and benefits of pineapples. 
1) Pineapples are excellent sources of vitamins A and C, as well as potassium, calcium, iron and more... 
2) Pineapples are rich in enzyme bromelain which helps us in digestion (especially protein) and protects us from indigestion. 
3) Fresh pineapples should not be put in gelatin/ jelly, as enzyme bromelain in the fruit breaks down protein, it also preventing gelatin from setting. 
4) Enzyme bromelain present in pineapples made it an effective meat tenderizer in cooking 
5) Its high fiber content is not only helpful in digestion, but also lowers cholesterol and boosting the immune system against illnesses. 
6)  Pineapple has anti-inflammatory properties that relieves inflammatory joint pains.
7) Pineapples contain high content of aspartic acid. It serves as an amino acid in our body thus helping the body's metabolic processes. 
8) It takes about 18 months for a pineapple to grow.
9) Pineapples are low in calories, no saturated fats and cholesterol
10) Eating unripe pineapples can lead to strong laxative effect.
