Oleh Oleh Ondeh Ondeh!!

Hello!! I finally got to try making kuehs! I've always been seeing recipes of them in cookbooks/ websites, but didn't manage to try it until last week!! :)
I looked up on the web and saw a recipe for Pumpkin Ondeh Ondeh. The directions were simple, plus mommy loves pumpkin, hence I decided on making it. It's time for my cooking tutorial again! Here goes.....
Step 1: Steam shredded coconut with pandan leaves

Step 2: Cut pumpkin into small pieces and steam till soft. Mash steamed pumpkin

Step 3: Heat tapioca starch with water to form a thick and sticky paste

Step 4: Measure out sweet potato flour and salt
Step 5: Combine all the ingredients (mashed pumpkin, thick paste and sweet potato flour) together and knead to form a dough.

Step 6: Shape the dough into small balls and wrap palm sugar (gula melaka) in them

Step 7: Bring a pot of water to boil and cook the ondeh ondeh

Step 8: Scoop out the cooked ondeh ondehs and toss them in shredded coconut to coat

Done!! They were so good and yummy. I was so happy when the workers in our shop complemented on them. We finished them all in barely 2 days! :D Hope to try making other kuehs/ food next time!!
