Hello!! Hope that Valentine's Day yesterday was a pleasant one for everyone! For those with partners, or those without, with friends and family. Personally, I always spend mine with my family as mommy's birthday falls on the same day!
So yesterday, Jie jie and I met up for lunch at Genki Sushi!! I've been wanting to try it for the longest time and we finally did yesterday. ^^ The restaurant was quite hi-tech! They made use of I-pads to take orders and "trains" to deliver the food! I was so glad that the food was decent and the prices were reasonable!! It was a treat from jie as I did her a favour a while ago.. hehe!

Left shortly after we got the gifts and the cake. We received pink balloons from a SMRT staff at the MRT station while we were heading for commonwealth. (We got them largely because I was staring hard at the lady :p) hehe..

It was grocery shopping at commonwealth as jie wanted to whip up some dishes for dinner.

When night falls, we celebrated mommy's birthday! The dishes cooked by jie were superb. We had braised tofu, black pepper 'mock' mutton, vegetables with abalone and steamed fish!! How awesome.

Ended the day with cake-cutting and gift presentation!! my papa and mama are so cute!! <3

It's the last day of school today! ECH year 3s' last day of school. Yes, this is the end of the 3 years in this course. I was already dreading today since the beginning of this week... In this week, we completed our last assignment, had a class presentation and submitted in 2 days in advance! I'm so proud of it because I was in-charge of the project. haha.

Anyways, I made Rocky Road together with a card for my lovely clique!! It was such a disappointment that the cheerleader gals were missing :(

Mixed feelings of sadness, nervousness, relief, lost and happiness filled me the moment I set off to school. I just feel so unwilling to do anything, I just want more time in school.

My class only had 2 tutorials today, and we ended early for both of them. Camwhored like mad after the last tutorial and my heart sank when I saw my classmates leaving clique-by-clique out of the classroom. I was already sobbing deep down in my heart when we took our last walk out of Ngee Ann..

Daily Scoop for ice cream with clique after which!! We sat there for 2 hours reminiscing about our 3 years in NP. Most happy, sad, angry times etc.. That's when we got all emotional and teared :'( And we realized how much we meant to one another. All of us had takeaways from the years of being together as a clique. I'm so grateful to have them as my friends, I will miss the times that we had together. Though we will most probably have different directions in life, I hope that we will keep in contact. I hope that our friendship will last!!

Reunion dinner 2012

Hello! CNY break came and went in a flash, I'm still in the festive mood, no mood for projects!! :( Just have to hang in there, school's coming to an end!!

Had reunion dinner with staff in my family business last week! It was a reunion dinner to celebrate new year and to reward their hard work. Almost all of them have been working in the company for over 10 years? In a way, they watched us grow too..

Went to a restaurant nearby to have dinner!! The food was super good and prices are reasonable! :))

Back track to last year... Caught Wicked the Musical at Marina Bay Sands Shoppes with Gabby on the eve of Christmas eve! haha, didn't ever thought that I would be able to step in the theater until I earn my own allowance and such but Gabby made my wish possible so soon!! Her brother bought an extra pair of tickets and so we get to use it!! lol. I remember that we met some difficulties before the musical

1) it was raining so heavily that my shoes were drenched while walking to the MRT station, it was horrible!! :(

2) Gabby bought a sheet of wrapping paper to wrap the box of egg tarts I gave her cause she was afraid that the egg tarts would be confiscated. lol

Thankfully the musical was worth all the efforts by us! We really enjoyed the close to 3hours musical!! It was certainly a wonderful night!

Chinese New Year Eve 2012

Hello everyone!! It's the eve of Chinese New Year yozz!! Relatives will be coming in for reunion dinner laters, and it's soo exciting!! :DD

I'm finally done with the last Field Practicum of our 3 years in NP! So, yays!! But i do miss my 3-4 year olds, they were such angels. Got them their favourite Hello Panda biscuits and they were so happy. We made pineapple tarts together too!! Didn't taste very good, but the process was enjoyable! :) Omg, I want to cry :'( Hope that they will grow up well and smart, I love them all!!

Boxing day 2011

Hello! Am back to blog about the day after Christmas, Boxing day!! Check out from MBS was schedules to be at 11am, but i woke up early cause I didn't sleep well. Mom and dad left early for their own program so i took a few pictures of the morning CBD while waiting for my sisters to wake up.

Breakfast together when the sisters were awake! It was such as pleasure to have breakfast with such an awesome view in front, it was sheer luxury. Watched the TV for a little while before heading to the skypark once again for the view.

Cabbed home to rest and tidy up a bit before heading out for Christmas party at Cynthia's place! It is a yearly grand event for Thia and her family and i am really honored to be invited!! ^^
Met Gabby at Clementi and we went to the party together while Aisha drove. There were so much food, both homemade and catered!! They had so many guests to serve that the party was a whole-day event, and the house was crowded and filled with food all day. lol.

Kitty Cat Loh just got sterilized and that explains the 'trumpet' thingy around her neck.. She's active, aggressive and spoilt!! She wouldn't budge from the chair, she loves sitting on chairs. lol, and she attacks if you try to remove her from there..

It was so funny after we left Thia's house! I attempted to drive Aisha's manual car after not touching it for months.. and I realised that I cannot do it!! :( I was freaking out when the car rolled back, and omg.. I can't explain the feeling!!
On the other hand, we were impressed by Aisha's driving skills!! she's a born race car driver, she drives really fast!! I was scared stiff when i sat beside her. LOL

Christmas Day 2011

Hello people! Am blogging because i'm waiting for my dad to be home for dinner, I dun wan to eat alone!! :( Time really flies, year 2011 is coming to an end!! Shall blog about Christmas if not I believe that i never will. LOL. Spent Christmas day with my family at Marina Bay Sands!! We booked a suite about a month ago when we visited the Art Science museum. Collected our Christmas log cake before we went to mbs, log cake was bought by mei mei specially for this Xmas!! <3

We arrived at the hotel before the actual check in time cause we were too excited!! lol. The room was ready within minutes after we visited the Sky Park.

We were soooo excited upon entering our room!! The view was magnificent, the whole CBD right before our eyes. Snacked a bit while camwhoring and getting all excited in our suite before heading down for Hi-Tea.

TWG Tea Salon & Boutique at the Shoppes for Hi Tea session!! We had already planned to do that when we had the gelato from there the previous time. Despite having 2 branches in the same mall, we had to queue and wait for seats as it was really crowded at the shoppes!! Took our time to look at the menu...

Camwhored quite a bit while jie decides on what to order. I think that the waiter who took our orders thought that we were really cheapskates!! LOL. Okay, I admit, we were really quite frugal in making orders. We share our food a lot, which we think is unique because nobody else does that in the tea salon. hehehe. Yeah, in the eyes of others, we may appear to be scrooges, but as long as we enjoyed our selves, we ain't bothered about their opinions :) We had an imperial set with smoked salmon sandwiches, macrons and scones with a pot of tea, we also ordered a farmhouse crepe and an egg benedicts. The food tasted real good, but the prices were really too high to pay. It was a good experience anyways!

After tea, we walked around for a while before heading to cold storage to get our dinner. Sushi and cup noodles for dinz, jie bought a packet of $8.80 Hokkien Mee from the food court too. Having dinner in our suite was damn awesome!! Back in the suite, it was camwhore time plus dinner plus TV plus chit chatting session. Dad invited aunt and family over for our log cake cutting and eating session too!!

Oh, before i forget, mei was bring a prick in choosing a swimming outfit!! We walked around the shoppes for 1 hour only to realise that we were short of $3 to get the cheapest swim suit. -_- Walked back to the suite and I had to give up my swim suit to her and wear some other swim suit which didnt look so good... Thanks ah, mei..
We swam at the Infinity Pool of MBS!! I haven swam in years, so happy that my first swim in years was in the infinity pool~ It was so freaking windy up on the 57th level!! Extremely windy and cold!! However, we braved the cold and jumped into the pool. I was freezing in the pool while mei was enjoying the coolness.. OMG, it was so bad that my lips turned blue :( Had to get out of the pool after a mere 20 minutes swim? Rushed back to the suite to shower immediately to prevent getting a flu. It was embarrassing but nonetheless enjoyable.

It was bed time after aunt and family left. We had some brooze to celebrate Christmas as well, lol. Did not sleep really well due to the foreign environment and pillows which were too low for comfort. I guess it's normal right?

That was how I spent my Christmas in year 2011, looking forward to a better one this year!! <3
I feel so accomplished finishing this post with these truckloads of photos, but looking at it just makes me feel so good! Holidays have ended, gotta get down to business and prepare for graduation!! Good luck everyone!

Hey peeps, Happy New Year everyone!! It's the beginning of the new year again, new resolutions and hopes! Overall, 2011 had been a great year for me and I hope that 2012 would be a better year!

How did you spend your new year countdown? I spent mine with secondary school clique!! :D It was our annual meeting! the last time we met up was also on new year's eve.. Remember?

We did not countdown together last year so we counted down together this year!! So happy! :)

We met up late afternoon for a movie- last movie we caught in year 2011: Mission Impossible 4- Ghost protocol. Didn't really hate or like this movie.. Not really my type of movie I guess.

Dinner at Bosses next cause the queue at Sushi Tei was atrocious. Had congee while the rest had la main and fried rice. We spent 1 hour in the restaurant for our meal.

Walked around the place as we had no idea where to go. Went to the sky park where the channel 8 countdown was held. As expected, it was horribly crowded, we had a hard time navigating through the sky park and getting down. And and, we felt so old when we saw so many secondary school age "children" at the sky park. *major depression :'(

Continued walking for some time till we finally settled down at Pacific Coffee Company. Had drinks and did some major catching up with each other whilst waiting for 12am to strike. It was so fun talking about new year resolutions and going through the achievements/ experiences that we went through year 2011.

And finally, 12am struck! There was fireworks lighting up the sky, marking the start of the year 2012. It was an awesome view and i was so glad to be able to start year 2012 with these fantastic friends!! :D

It wasnt the end after the countdown!! We proceeded to Holland Village for supper at Wendy's!! The outlet operated 24 hours specially for the new year. Our first food consumed in 2012, fries from Wendy's! Sinful but hack, it's new year's day!!

More catching up and chatting at Wendy's till about 2+am when daddy called up for me to go home. Shared a cab to Clementi where daddy came and fetched me home.
It was seriously my first time staying out late with my friends and counting down. But it was also the first unfilial act by me as I made my parents stay up and worry for me :(
That was New year's eve for me.
Sigh, school reopens now and i've got attachment later!! haven seen the children in a long time, hope that they will still remember me! Wish me luck! Bye bye! :)

disappointed tummy

Hi, today is a bad day for my taste buds and tummy, didnt enjoy my meals today. i just enjoyed a miserable dinner alone at home :( everyone's out and my dad is coming home late.. sigh, it's so disappointing..

Miserable dinner for 1

met up with Cynthia today for lunch at the new Wild Honey outlet at Scotts Square. I was having pretty high expectations for it after the first try at Mandarin Gallery, but i was so wrong.. Perhaps it was partially that i ordered the wrong thing.. I decided to be adventurous and ordered something different from the previous time, it was also due to the fact that they did not have the 'Sweet morning' which I ordered previously on the new menu. I totally detest the Californian Breakfast which I ordered!! (I dont usually detest food as long as they are not too awful) It was so bland and eww.. The char-grilled ciabatta bread was so charred that it tasted so damn bitter! I had to force myself to finish the disgusting combination just because of the price I had to pay for it. Yucks x1000~ It was so repulsive that I felt like puking after finishing the meal. It left me sick and totally unsatisfied!!

In addition to that, the Tunisian Breakfast ordered by thia failed to reach expectations too. It just tasted spicy, not that special and flavorful as compared to the one we had at Mandarin Gallery. OMG, so the outlets do matter, eat at Mandarin Gallery, brave the queue!! Either that or order no fail items such as the English Breakfast, Eggs Benedict or the drinks or something. Oh ya, and did I mentioned that we waited >30 minutes for our food? It was totally not worth it.. Will probably return only after I feel better

Had yoghurt from Yoguru that made my tummy feel better, but the amount of topping was miserable. FML, have no idea why everything is against my tummy today :'(

Anyways, ended well with fruits!! I just adore fruits!! They are so sweet and healthy! I LOVE FRUITS!!

Unsatisfied stomach and taste buds = an extremely upset me >:( I hate today!!

Hello! I logged in and out so many times all these weeks but didn't blog.. Haven been in the mood lately, too much stress :( I've been troubled by assignmentS and some other redundant, insane and meaningless matters. That aside, I mentioned that i was going to Girls' Generation concert right? And I went!! OMG!! It was so awesome!! I was looking at perfection!! It was also my first time watching a concert at The Singapore Indoor Stadium! Pity that I had horrible seat and didn't have a perfect view of the girls :( Also, my cousin and I were seated so far apart cause we didn't get to buy good seats, they were sold out in a flash!! I enjoyed the concert nonetheless.. Oh ya, and before we had some issues with the ushers when they were unhappy of us talking at my seat.. Annoying.

I managed to take some blurry pictures despite the tight security. "No recording" allowed :(( The ushers/ whoever they are were so annoying, they kept walking to and fro to on the lookout for cameras. the pictures were blurry because I had to zoom so much :(

The performance was fabulous!! They have really good figures! Not ALL of them are STICK-THIN, they are toned!! They've got sexy thighs!! I like the confidence that they have in themselves together with the way that they present themselves on stage for such a large crowd!! They are really pretty and they do SHINE so brightly on stage! I really admire them!! :D

(or perhaps it's cause that I'm so sick of being people with low self-esteem and resort to ways in harming themselves. I truly hope that people would cherish what they have before they lose it permanently) LOVE PEACE HOPE people!!

Today was an efficient day! I completed >70% of my assignment!! It was absolutely draining though, I felt hungry and exhausted after focusing on assignment for >3hours straight.. Tiring but contented that I managed to do so much.. Just have to touch up a lil tmr :) Yay, I'm good! I want to go and sleep!! And I really hope to survive this week! Cause it will be the holidays!! :D

Yipee! This just gives me the motivation to get through next week. I can't wait to see them!! There will be another assignment due next week, and I wasted today, I was slacking like a pig at home. *oink* Not by choice, I couldn't go exercise as it was raining the whole day, can't blame me for being a couch potato :p eat like crazy, sit in front of the computer, sleep. sigh, gotta start work soon!!

But not mine! :( Today is the day that little children graduate from their childcares/ kindergarten and primary school. I am extremely depressed of my inability to attend the graduation ceremony/ concert of the first 2 batches of K2s from 2 different attachment centres :( I am indeed regretful for it.. Thanks for helping me start my journey in ECH! I will never forget all of the little angels that brought joy and laughter and sometimes troubles to me. I hope that they will have a smooth and easy transition to primary school! All the best to them in their future too! I love all of you <3

Parents are out of town

My parents are out of town currently! Actually, since last Thursday... So we are left in Sg on our own :( We are surviving pretty well as up till now, these few days have been crazy. I play the role of a chauffeur and a housekeeper, sad.. The last week was quite a fulfilling week, jie and I sent our parents off the airport, I had my first field supervision as well as my first flea!! hehe! I was quite lucky that the one that went well was the field supervision and not the flea. LOL, true right? You would rather have a failed flea compared to failing your field supervision right? haha!

Hey hey! I guess that I should be recharged for the week, my weekends were so well spent with my family <3 It helped to hasten my recovery from whatever misery I had. Thank goodness! On the other hand, I had wanted to start on my assignment today, but did not as I had too much fun. LOL.

Relaxing picnic today!! It was almost like a private beach where there were rarely people around, we loved the serenity and amazing view of the beach. We brought our picnic mats, and the never-ending sea breeze further escalated the comfort level.

We had plenty of food, plus fantastic company. We stayed at the beach talking and listening to music for nearly 2 hours, just resting and relaxing our minds and bodies.

It was pure indulgence..

Bukit Timah Nature Reserve

Happy Deepavali to all Hindu friends! hope that everyone had a pleasant day :) I enjoyed my day today with my family!! <3 It has been an awfully long time since we last went hiking/ walking/ exercising at Bukit Timah Hill, so we revisited the place for a morning workout on this Deepavali! hehe.

It was certainly a good workout for all of us! We didn't realize that the hill was so steep at the beginning, much effort was needed for us to climb up the slope, and we were panting like dogs... We had planned to walk a shorter route up the 'peak' of the hill but ended up with a longer one.. lol.

We did not take too long to arrive at the submit. we were all drenched in perspiration, but happy cause we made it up the peak together!! had light snacks while we were at the peak! It was such a pleasant atmosphere at the peak.

Mei calls it the Eiffel Tower of Bukit Timah.. LOL

There were so many families, just like us, making it to the top together. There were many children too, and I wondered how some families push baby prams up.. The route to the peak was full of rocks, thick tree roots, mud and staircases. It really wasn't easy to travel up the peak..

There was this kid who liked Angry Birds so much that he was literally "attracted" to my dad when my my dad accidentally pressed the game on his phone. haha. The boy approached my dad when he heard the sound of the game.. So cute right? he even taught my dad how the game is played. Kids nowadays are so technologically savvy. lol.

Chilled for a while at the peak before taking a shortcut down hill!! much more relaxing compared to climbing up...

That was the end of our hiking trip at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve!!

We drove over to the Salvation Army to donate some unwanted clothes before heading to West Coast for lunch! It was Kim's Family Food Korean Restaurant for early lunch!

Food was quite decent with a wide variety of banchan (side dishes) too. Prices were quite high in our opinion though. Service was good and our food arrived promptly :) Would like to go back again!!

Hello! My family and i finally went for a haircut at my aunt's today!! My hair was so messy and out of hand, it really needed a trim!! Not much difference to my hair actually, just a wee bit shorter and i got rid of my highlights! hehe. Oh gosh, it's Monday tomorrow, another week of school.. To be honest, I'm extremely worried about the workload in school, I really hope that I will be able to cope well in school this one last semester. Wish me luck, Jia you!! No fear, be brave!

Hello.. Oh my oh my!! I really hate to admit this, but I am truly overwhelmed by the workload in school after my first 2 days of school.. Tasks/ projects/ assignments/ attachments are scaring the hell out of me! I feel so lost, so helpless, so scared and I do not know how to start accomplishing the expected tasks!! I totally abhor these emotions that is in me, yet i cannot get rid of them. Sigh, it is a relieve that we do not need to attend school tomorrow.. I'm so lousy, I need a breather this soon!! :( Anyways, I hope to get back on track soon if not i'm gonna drown :( I feel so WEAK >=(

On a brighter note, had lunch and a short shopping trip with the girls today! Swensens at Clementi for 1-for-1 lunch deal followed by shopping at Bugis street.. It was nice catching up and talking about random topics. I did enjoy the time together despite it being short. I guess I have to rely on them heavily to get through this semester!! Jia you! :)

Mid Autumn Festival '11

Long overdue pictures from mooncake festival 2011! It was a more "mature" and peaceful night cause there were no kids who came to play. It was sure a good catching up session with cousins that we haven seen for months! Had our annual get together to enjoy/ admire the full moon session, where we chatted, played and ate various foods till past midnight. There was so much fun and laughter on that day, we had uncles who were singing and dancing, cousins cracking up jokes and poking fun of each other! It was such a noisy night and great reunion for all!

It was my uncle's and daddy's birthday on the lunar calendar that day, hence, we all sang them a birthday song but we forgot to buy a cake -_-

And and and, the best loved mooncake by everyone was the one from Marina Bay Sands Hotel! Daddy was so proud that he received them from a customer.. LOL.

Woot! School will reopen tomorrow, and i do have mixed feelings for it. Sigh, on one hand, I feel excited to be able to everyone again, but on the other hand, I do feel fearful about the workload which is about to befall on us. I do understand that it is inevitable for new challenges to arise, thus we shall all be brave and face it well!! New resolutions for the new semester... Not forgetting that it would also be the LAST semester.

Get ready people! it's gonna be tough, but we are gonna breeze through together! jia you!!

Hello! Backtrack to the day out with Cynthia! Shall clear it once and for all after much procrastination :p After our lunch at Wild Honey's, we walked around the Mandarin Gallery and took some photos!! LOVE the pictures! <3

Impromptu decision to H&M cause the girl had a sudden change of plans. I remember that we had to queue up before entering the store as it was only the 6th day since the opening.

Fortunately, it did not take us too long to enter the store. Due to the crowd, we just took a quick glance of the apparels and all the levels before leaving. we took less than 30 minutes to explore the 3 floors i reckon.. not forgetting to take pictures in the store!! It was my first visit to H&M and I was totally excited about it. LOL!!

Hehe, i know that it's a lot of photos taken in the timespan of less than 30 minutes. Couldn't help it yeah..

We strolled over to *scape for a lil while and bought some cheap rings!! $1 for each! What a steal! hehe!

Eventually, all good things come to an end, we split after that. It was an enjoyable day and my spirits were lifted for the rest of the day. (:

Hello! Sad to announce, but the holidays are ending real soon! :( This is also the last of holiday of our polytechnic education, indeed, time flies... it will be just another term to graduation, and i'm sure that it would not be an easy one to tackle with. However, we need to survive through!! Jia you everyone!!

To sum up my holidays... It wasn't been fruitful and eventful, but i did enjoy it very much. I rested a lot and met up with few of my favourite friends, and i had plenty of me-time! I love time alone, call me a loner if you'd like! Glad that I really had the time to rest and i'm all ready to roll now!! :D haha. gained a couple of kilos though. hehe. Haven been exercising cos i'm lazy like that XD

Skipped work to stay home today!! Had super delicious Ddukbokki (Korean hot and spicy rice cakes) which jie cooked for lunch and i helped granny out with the errands at home. I'm so proud of myself and i smell like an onion now. LOL.

Breakfasts on the go!!

Good morning sunshines! I've really got nothing much to blog about, but am still gonna to. lol. Okay, breakfast is the most important meal of the day as it is the first meal we take after our beauty sleep. So, a good breakfast marks a good start of the day! Personally, I am a breakfast person, I MUST/ INSIST on having breakfast, or else I'll be grumpy/ overeat the rest of the day. Worst of all, I WILL insist on taking my time in having my breakfast at home despite being late for school. hehe, horrible i know..

As i started to help out in my parents' shop during the holidays, I was so lazy to wake up early for breakfast. Had to have my breakfast-on-the-go then! The main points for any take away breakfast- simple, clean/ neat and easy to prepare.

this is my collection of breakfasts on the go! I don't do that eventually cause I got used to waking up early for breakfast at home now. :)

First up is My ultimate favourite- Grilled cheese toast with cherry tomatoes!

This is really the best! Healthy, easy and fuss free!

Ingredients needed: slice(s) of bread, slice(s) of cheese and cherry tomatoes (cut into small pieces), black pepper (optional)/ other seasonings

Next up: Cheese bread with coffee milk

I didn't have the time to toast the bread, hence the pathetic combination of just a slice of cheese on the bread :( But the coffee milk saved the day, I love flavoured milk!

And on some days, I would have toasted cheese bread! Although I like the one with tomatoes more, but I could make do with this too :)

There are also days that I would snack on the car after having my breakfast, and another of my favourite snack is...... The Potato and Cheese Biscuit!! (healthier choice= plus point)

I had the biscuit with a slice of multigrain bread from Barcook Bakery that day. Love the multigrain loaf from there, it just gets better with some peanut butter!! :D

Lastly, and the most convenient breakfast food is store-bought buns! Buns from bakeries/ supermarkets.. They are really good too!!

had this walnut and raisin bun from Petit Provence the other time, but i didn't fancy it, it was too dry!! Had to swallow it with water..

Hello, have been neglecting this space for a long time~~ Not because that i'm particularly busy, its that i've been exceptionally lazy. Sorry!! Back to blog about a trip to Wild Honey with Cynthia baby last month!! hehe, here goes~

We were supposed to meet up at Dhoby Ghaut station, but I was a lil late :p Met her at the theater instead, we caught Glee: The 3D Concert Movie cause we had nothing better watch with the limited time we had with each other. Neither of us follow the Glee TV series, so, we didn't know the characters at all, we just sat and watched.. It was really boring to us at the beginning of the movie and we were began to regret our decision, but we changed our minds as the movie proceeded.

Our verdict: The movie was an OKAY-LAH standard. not too bad because of the real life stories shared, we LOVED the vocals of the glee cast too!! They were totally awesome! :)

Proceeded for late lunch after our movie!! We walked from The Cathy to The Mandarin Gallery, where Wild Honey was.

We had to wait for a while before we got seats, meanwhile, we CAMWHORED!! XD

Got our seats in a jiffy and the next thing we knew, we were in a dilemma of deciding what to order. lol. That so typical of me, i know.. I was being quite an idiot by asking the staff to show me how the different kinds of breakfasts looked on the ipad at the counter. luckily there wasn't anybody lining up behind us. hehe. Thia decided on Tunisian breakfast while I had Sweet Morning! Her breakfast was salty while mine was sweet!

After paying and settling down at our table, I ran to basement at Takashimaya to get Thia a box of Royce chocolate! It was for her birthday actually, i was quite sorry that I didn't have much time to prepare anything :( Glad that she liked the box of chocolate nevertheless. Rushed back just in time shortly after our breakfasts were served!! Was panting like a dog though. lol.

The place was really cosy and comfortable, we enjoyed our meal very much!! The Tunisian breakfast was really yummy, Thia loved it! I too, was absolutely pleased with my Sweet Morning breakfast. Both of us yearned to return some day.

Marina Bay Sands

It was a trip to Marina Bay Sands after vegetarian lunch with the family!! Mommy have been wanting to visit that place for the longest time. Off we went.. and we arrived at MBS shortly..

Our first stop was the hotel!! Pictures on our way to the hotel..

It was pretty crowded in the hotel, it was perhaps due to it being a public holiday.. I felt the the place was quite grand and beautiful.

We proceeded to the Shoppes next....

Browsed through the shoppes a lil while more and realised that there wasn't anything much to do.. LOL. there were only branded branded branded and whats not...

Then, jie suggested to go visit the Art Science Museum for something more interesting. and there we went..

Inquired about the displays before getting tickets in. There were 3 exhibitions held, you can choose to buy tickets to view only 1 exhibitions or tickets for all 3 exhibitions. We bought tickets for all 3 exhibitions!

The first exhibition we visited was the Van Gogh exhibition. It was a room filled with projections of his art works. There were also facts about the drawings and about his life. He had a tragic life, and he was mad.. his works were fantastic nevertheless.

The second exhibition we saw was ship-wrecked. It wasn't too interesting to me.. Just a display of antique and rare things retrieved from sunken ships..

The third exhibition was Dali, the mind of a genius. He was a really eccentric person, his works are all out-of-this-world kind.. His works include drawings, paintings, sculptures and more... Amazing person, but he really thinks too much imo.. Crazy! He has an obsession in women, clocks and whats not.. he's unpredictable..

Before we left the exhibition, we saw some interesting mirrors. Those that either elongate you or shrink you.. We had a good laugh at ourselves in the mirrors. haha

It was already 8pm plus when we exited the museum. It was certainly an interesting and fun experience for all of us! hehe.. Got some chocolates from Royce before heading home for dinner.

Miao Yi Restaurant

Lunch at Miao Yi with family on Sunday! Parents needed to deliver some goods nearby hence the decision, hehe. Didn't really mind anyways, because the food from there is awesome! As per normal, the restaurant was crowded when we arrived but we got a table eventually without having to wait for long.

We had our orders taken when parents arrived, and we ordered quite a lot for a family of 5. There were just too many dishes which we wanted to try!! :p

Munched on yummy appetizers before our food was served. The 'vegetable archar' was awesome! Mommy was totally inspired by it and made the exact some dish during dinner at home. It was just assorted vegetables in vinegar and sugar. yums..

Dish #1- Roasted pork (our must-order on every visit to MY!)

The roast pork was so crispy and fragrant that you can mistake it as real pork! Complemented with the lettuce and cucumber, it gets rid of the oiliness and jelat-ness of the fried pork. Remember to add some sweet sauce and chili to further enhance the overall taste of the wrap. We had at least 3 wraps each!!

Dish #2- Mapo Tofu

The silky soft tofu was complemented by the slightly spicy and flavorful sauce. The spices used in the sauce was real fab!

Dish #3- Hotplate Venison

Sadly, the hotplate venison was not well-received by my family. It was too oily and a lil tough to chew on. Understand that it the grease was to prevent the sticking of food to the hotplate.. It wasn't an awful dish overall, just not quite to our liking i guess...

Dish #4- Sambal Kang Kong (our must-order dish #2)

Needless to say, the sambal kang kong was really fragrant with wok hei as it was being stir-fried on hot wok over high heat. Yummy!!

Dish #5- Sweet and Sour Pork

This is a fail proof dish as long as the sauce is well seasoned. and true enough, the sweet and sour pork at MY did not disappoint us! the sauce was appetizing with a balanced taste of tartness and sweetness to it. Also, we were totally fooled by the pork as it texture and taste was really similar to the real thing.

Lastly, we ordered a bowl of Ginger Rice each to go with all the savory and delicious dishes shown above. The ginger rice was super awesome too! It tasted like chicken rice because of the ginger taste!

The soft and fluffy rice went really well with our dishes!! It's akin to the combination of cookies and cream! So good!!!

We carried on with our normal routine of going down to the supermarket for groceries and Delifrance!!

Happy 20th Birthday dear Cynthia Marie Loh!! Love you plenty, and hope that you stay cheerful and healthy!! :D

It was cooking, baking, movie and pigging out session at Cynthia's place! (a few weeks ago)

I decided to come up with an S menu , food beginning with the letter S- We made Spaghetti and Swiss roll!! hehe. I was in-charged of cooking the spaghetti while Gabby was in charged of baking the swiss roll, and Cynthia was our assistant! had so much cooking together with those girls. I was quite nervous while making the pasta as it was my first time making pasta sauce from scratch. Happy to say that I succeeded!! The pasta sauce was awesome and I had 2 servings of my own fantastic pasta. No pictures as I made it in a rush, I was really hungry back then :p

Helped out with the swiss roll after lunch! Unfortunately, our swiss roll was not really successful :( and I was the one who tore it :( However, the cake tasted really awesome! We had countless pieces of it despite the fact that it failed to roll up into a swiss roll. haha, and we also whipped some cream whilst waiting for the cake to bake, but it failed too.. We did not succeed in whipping the cream, it remained watery.. :p

Tried out the SpongeBob Toaster, but it failed to work.. No spongebob mark on my toast :(

My Veggie Pau

Yo-zersss!! I had my first attempt in making steamed buns (pau, bao, 包) last Saturday!! Made vegetable paus cause my parents are converting into Pescetarians. Bought a pau mix and made the vegetable filling myself! Gotta say that it was really hard work, but all worth it because they tasted great!! :D Glad that I got the right pau mix, the skin was soft and yummy! I was so shocked by the rising effect of the yeast, I underestimated it and so my paus turned out in Large sizes! lol.. Still love them though <3

Attended the full month party of a relative 2 weeks ago, it was held at a function room in Fort Canning! We had some difficulties locating the room though, had to call for help in guiding us into the exact location of the function room :p

Saturday with Family!

hello! It was a special day for all Singaporeans on the 27th as it was the presidential election day! Although I am apparently still unqualified to vote, I really envy those who can... Parents and jie jie voted early in the morning while I wait in the car, enjoying my breakfast.

Went to shop to get back my handphone cause I left it in there the day before -.- damn careless of me...Helped out a bit before heading to Jurong Point to meet sisters for lunch!! Lunch at Billy Bombers!! it's been an extremely long time since we dined in there.. Used to dine there together as a family with my parents in the past. hehe.

Ordered the 2 main courses with a soup and a drink to share.

Loved the lemonade! It was truly refreshing and zesty!! but not for jie as she has low tolerance for sourness :p

The mushroom soup was rich and flavourful, but tad salty in my opinion.

3 hours of karaoke at Kbox in Jurong Safra!! We got special price cause of some technical error in the online booking system. teehee! It was freezing in there, didn't have much mood to take pixs, just kept snacking to keep warm.. LOL.

We had vegetable hor fun, seafood with pork hor fun, sambal kang kong, fish head with gravy, cauliflower with mushrooms, salted vegetables with tofu soup, hotplate tofu and 3 bowls of rice. We managed to clear everything except for half plate of hor fun, which we had it packed home.

Lunch with Bestie!

Met up with bestie for lunch last week!! Just gotta meet up with her before school reopens for her. That poor girl was working before that and got delayed for our date.

Initial plan was to have lunch at Swensens, but due to lunch crowd, we had Ichiban Sushi instead. however, the situation wasn't any better at Ichiban, it was worst in fact. Service was slow and way below average. Our cups of hot green tea were served way after our main courses. Really slow.. chatted a bit over lunch.

Camwhored a bit in the toilet before heading to chill at Tutti Fruitti for Froyo! The place was infested with secondary school peeps.. Most have high spending power to be able to get froyo from there instead of Yami.. LOL. and we got stared at by them while we were camwhoring. haha

had a nostalgic stroll around Clementi, the place where we got to know each other. Memories during our secondary school time came back to us, and we realized how old we are when we calculated the number of years since we left sec school. But I'm so glad that we still keep in contact with each other. I'm really hoping that our friendship would last!

Parted with bestie soon as she had to leave for elsewhere. It was a really short but pleasant time with her, enjoyed it!!

Went to the library alone for some reading before heading to Toastbox for tea! hehe, yeah, I ate again!! *Oink! Nom nom nom. Garlic tom yam toast with coffee, yums :p

Hello! I have been extremely unproductive during this period of holidays.. it is called resting in a nice way and being lazy/ useless in a bad way. The only productive thing is my increasing weight due to excessive eating. *Oink :[ So, i seriously gotta find something to do. Gotta earn moolahs and control my weight!! go go go!! XD

On this National Day, my family and I went on "The Great Walk Around the Central Business District of Singapore"!! yup, you must be wondering what exactly is it, well, to be simple, we walked around the CBD area to catch a glimpse of the fireworks during the National Day Parade. LOL. there were simply too many road closures and we had to abandon our car at Clarke Quay and walk/ take public transport to Marina Bay.
To be honest, it was not easy at all as we did not know the route well. hehe, we don't visit the CBD often you see.. So, let me start on our journey on that day...
We drove to Clarke Quay from home for lunch!! Had Marutama Ramen at The Central!! The noodles were really delicious with savoury broth!! The ramen was rather unique as they were rather thin compared to normal ramen, daddy commented that it resembled wanton noodles. LOL. We tried the char siew as well, and they were awesome!! The slices of char siew were roasted to perfection and extremely aromatic. We had a pleasant lunch over a conversation on NAPFA test and daddy's experience during his NS.

After lunch, we had gelato at Haato & Co. before proceeding for the great CBD walk! As expected, there were many other people walking along at the CBD areas too!! They were either lining up for the NDP, collecting something, having picnic, or doing what we were doing. Anyways, it was so good to see so many people together with us, and most were dressed in red/ white!! So patriotic, make me feel National Day-ish too!! I was dressed in red too! ^^

We kind of got lost and had to ask for directions, not to mention about the crowd everywhere!! It contributed to lots of confusions!! We walked under the sun, shade, shopping malls, mrt stations, underpass, roads, took the MRT etc to get to Marina Bay!! It was quite a rare opportunity to take MRT with my family. hehe.

It was almost 7pm when we finally arrived at our destination. We were all feeling sweaty, tired and a little fed-up cause of the endless crowd and the long long walk.. Settled down for some snacks while we waited for the parade and the fireworks to start. We had fruits, Garrett popcorn and bread from Barcook for snacks as we waited.

Eventually, we caught the fireworks at about 8:05pm. Undoubtedly, the fireworks were beautiful and spectacular! We could feel the excitement of everyone while watching the fireworks, celebrating Singapore's 46th birthday together.

We had a hard time going back to Clarke Quay as well, which we survived through subsequently. It was such a tiring day but I would treat it as a day for family bonding!! Happy Birthday Singapore!!

Great Step in 2!

On 8th August 2011, I bade farewell to my last teen year and turned 20. Its amazing on how much we have grown without noticing. Time just passes so quietly and quickly. And it is important that we get hold and make use of time wisely. Need not achieve something great everyday, but just by gaining new experiences, spreading joy and cherishing the present is enough.

Hehe, enough of my thoughts on growing up, here to share about my celebrations with my loved ones!! <3

Skipped class for celebration at Nex with my lovely clique! hehe, super grateful to them cause they skipped class just for me <3 The girls met up earlier to buy a Kaya cake from Bengawan for me! They also queued for the movie tickets in advance cause the mall was super crowded that day. As it was the eve of National Day, it was a half day programme for most schools. The massive crowd was beyond our expectations, it was so scary!!

With the cake and tickets, we headed to Sushi Tei for lunch! In there, there were at least 2 persons celebrating their birthdays too!! hehe. The friendly staff volunteered to help store the cake in the fridge.

We had a hard time deciding on our orders, but did eventually. LOL, as always. Chatted and took pictures while waiting for the food!! I only had a few pictures on hand, the others refused to upload them :(

Had the cake after our lunch!! The girls sang me a birthday song and presented me with presents <33 I felt really loved and touched at that moment. The only words that came out of my mouth was "Thank you very much!" Glad to have them as my friends!

Left for our movie after lunch!! The movie theater was so big and nice, the seats were really comfy too! We caught Horrible Bosses!! It was a good-humored movie, bursting with sexual content. teehee. All of us enjoyed it!

To the supermarket after the movie!! one of our favourite 'activity', LOL. walked around randomly and ended up only buying a bottle of water. hehe.

It was desserts at Dessert story for a perfect sweet ending to the celebration trip! Enjoyed myself very much with the accompany of the girls! <33 Not forgetting well birthday wishes from so many others on FB!

Proceeded for some physical workout to lose some calories before dinner with my family!! Went to Chef Daniel's Kitchen at Illuma for dinner!! It was quite a classy restaurant, the place was clean with good ambience, cutleries were neatly arranged, and staff service was good and prompt. We got seated in the restaurant pretty soon, and they offered to help us store the cake we brought into the chiller. We took some time to look through the menu before ordering..

Appetizers- Foie Gras . Scallop

It was our first time trying Foie Gras actually. Sadly, mommy and I were not able to truly appreciate the taste of it. Daddy and sisters liked it though. The scallops were awesome!! They were fresh and well marinated.
We topped up $8 for soup of the day and desserts 2 main dishes.

Pumpkin soup served with bread
The soup was light and smooth to the palate while the bread was warm and fluffy. A perfect combination which is comforting and pleasing to the soul. The bread was so good on its own that we craved for seconds.

Raspberry drink, Ice lemon tea and Rose tea
Drinks were good too, they were of suitable sweetness level.

After the starters, we waited for a really long time for our main dishes to be served. It was perhaps due to the number of diners on that day.

Mains- Aglio Olio. Tiger Prawn Spaghetti

The plates of pasta were cooked al-dente, which was perfect as the pastas served in some restaurants would either be overcooked or undercooked.
The Aglio Olio was super spicy!! The chili was unique and fragrant, just a lil too spicy. Great choice for people who adore spicy food.
Meanwhile, the tiger prawn pasta is a safe choice for all (expect for people who are allergic/ hate seafood). The tomato based sauce was tasty with generous amount and variety of ingredients in it.

Mains- Tuna Steak. Wok-Charred Salmon

Both the tuna steak and salmon were cooked from the surface, leaving the interior of the fish tad raw. At first glance, the huge slab of tuna really looked like a piece of steak, the interior was really pinkish and tender. Delicious!!
Because of my request in increasing the degree of doneness to the salmon, the surface of the salmon was extremely charred. O.O It tasted good nonetheless. hehe. the vegetables served with the salmon was also yummy!

Main- Spring Chicken

The piece of chicken was really tender, it was smeared with flavourful gravy and mushrooms. A delectable and memorable dish. LOL.

Lastly, we had brownie with fresh cream for dessert!! Didnt have photos cause my phone was dead.
We were really bloated with all the delicious food!! We brought home the birthday cake to eat for the next day.

To end it off, I feel really blessed that my birthday is celebrated with my loved ones every year. It's not the quantity but the quality of the company. The heartfelt blessings and wishes from friends and family are priceless 'assets' that are truly meaningful to me. <3

Karaoke with Gabby!

Gabby has been my karaoke mate in my recent visits to the KTV! She loves singing just like I do!! teehee. And I certainly do remember celebrating her birthday in Kbox@ Clementi last year. How time flies, the Kbox have since moved out from Clementi.

Therefore, we visit Party World now!! LOL. joking la, that's not the main reason, it's just the location that we visit. Our favourite place for KTV is Party World@ VivoCity ^^

Am quite fond of visiting the karaoke with Gabby, we've got common songs that we like to sing and most importantly, we are not afraid to sing! hehe. We sing duet together too!! I'll be the guy and she'll be the girl because of our voice range :) but its quite contradicting, we love to select and sing songs that oppose our voice range. As in, she loves to choose songs from male singers and I love to sing songs from female singers. LOL.

Steamed Cake!

Hello! have been resting all these days during the holidays, without fear of meeting due dates of assignments and whatsoever.... This is life :) decided to bake yesterday and use up some ripe bananas at home.

Looked through many popular banana recipes such as banana bread, banana muffins and cookies, but i did not 'feel' like making all these.. Finally, I thought of something that I wanted to try! that is.......... Banana Swiss Roll!! sounds awesome right? LOL. Saw plenty of tempting recipes online and decided on 1.

proceeded to Clementi for ingredients shopping! Dilly dallied for a long time before going home with lunch for myself and the maid. hehe.

My awesome wanton noodle for lunch!! It was from quite a famous stall, fortunately there was only a short queue when I bought the noodles. hehe. Satisfying! The char siew was nice! the bowl of noodles was finished in a jiffy!

It was time to get down to serious business after lunch!! Baking commenced when the needed utensils and ingredients were gathered. Much effort was needed to whip/ beat the eggs cause I couldn't find the mixer :(

After all the hard work, my batter was complete, however, to my horror, the oven was FAULTY!! OMG TTM!! I did everything so well, but to discover that the oven was not working.. It was such a blow to me. sigh..

In order to save my efforts, I thought of steaming and cooking it with a rice cooker! hehe. it was sort of something that I have always wanted to try :p
Therefore, instead of making a Swiss roll, I made steamed cakes.. LOLOL!! The rice cooker took a really long time to cook the cake, while the steamer was much faster. Will never try to make a cake with a rice cooker ever again! Waste of time and resources (electricity) :(

So in the end, my steamed cakes turned out a 'success'! With the addition of chocolate chips and walnut, they tasted pretty good! ;) I like this recipe! It doesn't have butter which means that my granny can finally eat the cakes made by me!! :DD

As pictured, the cakes were quite ugly because they sank. Wasn't suppose to open the lid in midst of steaming, but I did, cause I was so anxious to check on the them. It was a fun and tiring experience!! made me feel like trying out more steamed cake recipes!! :)

Hello! I just owned my first personal camera last Saturday! It's a relatively simple and lousy camera but i bought it only because it was real cheap. Yeah, I'm a cheapo.. hehe. Free gifts thrown in as well, a camera case and a portable charger. :) Gonna get a good one in the future when I have my own financial abilities. As for now, a simple and good one will satisfy my camwhoring habits :p

Hello! Back for more update after my 20th and our nation's 46th birthday!! hehe! I enjoyed and had lots of fun on both days!! I'm sure everyone else too, a well-deserved break for all!

Lunch date with Thia on a few days before my birthday! Had wanted to meet up with that girl for the longest time!! But due to personal and school commitments, we had no chance. It was like so near yet so far, we are in the same class but finding it so hard to meet up :( That poor girl was going through a difficult time during that period of time. Thank God for Whatsapp!! It was a really powerful tool which helped us keep in contact all the time. What a suitable time to switch to using a smart phone. LOVE WHATSAPP, though it can be a lil cranky at times..

Met up at Jurong Point for lunch before our lecture! Settled for Ayam Penyet Ria since it was more suitable for her 'taste' i reckoned. We each ordered a main, a drink and a dish to share. Cause we there early, there were only a few people, and food was promptly served.

First up, our drinks! Avocado for thia and barley for me. Recommended the avocado drink to thia cos it was really good!!

Birthday Eve

Hello people!! It's the eve of my birthday today!! Last few minutes of being a 19-year-old.. sigh, have to admit that i'm aging. But i'll always be young at heart <3! hehe.

Anyway, I'm gonna spend my last 19 years old moments and few 20 years old moments doing assignments :( major sadness.. This is so that I can "take leave" tomorrow!! Just gotta endure! Jia you!!

And since i'm already blogging, might as well write more... LOL :p

Went to eat with B after school on a sunny day! Had sucky lunch at Delifrance, thus we decided to make it up with desserts!! To the Ice Bar!! It was our first time trying the desserts from there.. The place was empty when we were there, there were only the shopkeeper and ourselves.

Had trouble deciding what to order! We ended up ordering the "best sellers", the fact that they have more than 3 best sellerS made us take a long time to decide. Settled for Mango Ice!! We had student promotion!! 20% off our bowl of shaved ice!! What a steal!! :)

The pasta tasted delicious!! B and I promised to return for more!! LOL. The night ended with waffles from Prima Deli!! :))

Project Oritz!!

Had an assignment which involved the whole class or rather the whole cohort a few weeks back!! The whole class had to work together and come up with an orientation programme for our course mates. The whole class came together and formed different departments to plan the programmes. We had the games, logistics, food & beverage and sharing session departments. B and I were in the sharing session department!! hehe.

So, for the past weeks, we have been having class meetings and deciding the things to be done in preparation for the day. The theme which we came up with was Alice In Wonderland! We even had a class movie session!

The whole class planned to dress up as characters in the movie as well! The characters are, the Red Queen, Cheshire Cat, Mad Hatter, Tweedledum/ Tweedledee (Fat boys) and the White Rabbit! Can guess which character did I dress us as?? LOL.
And finally, The BIG day arrived!! I had a really horrible morning on that day though... sigh :(
Continuing with Project Ortiz...The preparation part was quite hectic though, everyone was busy and all. I was quite nervous as B and I were the game master in conducting our activity. I was afraid that I will screw up by giving wrong instructions. We even prepared scripts for ourselves.
After our preparation work was done, We prayed for the success of our program.

At the end of the day, our program was a huge success!! We had so much fun and food during the programme!! Fun ttm!The food prepared by our F&B department was awesome!! They brought home-made cupcakes, kebabs, jelly, fruit tarts, sandwiches and cookies!! :D B and I gobbled down countless cookies!!

Enjoyed food from other classes as well!! The whole event went smoothly and nicely! Had a short session with the whole class about the program. Everyone felt happy and satisfied with it! Happy!! :DDD

Movie dates!!

Caught 2 movies last week, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows II and Wu Xia!! Harry Potter with jie at Jurong Point and Wu Xia with Brenda BB!!

Harry Potter was nice in my opinion, haha.

Wu Xia with BBB!! Went to Tiong Bahru Plaza after school while the rest had project work to do. LOL, we are such slackers, as well as happy-go-lucky people..

The GV at TBP was not up to standard IMO, service aint good, and technical difficulties were encountered.. There was a serious shortage of staff, the queue for tickets was so slow and there was no staff at the candy bar. we also observed that there was a high population of elders in TBP. when we entered the theater, we saw so many uncles in there, not sure if it's the film that we chose or were there some other reasons. yeah, the movie was quite enjoyable when the subtitles suddenly disappeared and we could not catch everything that was said.

The movie continued screening for a while until it was interrupted due to "technical difficulties." Camwhored a bit in the theater. lol. the movie then resumed at the part which the subtitles started disappearing. Our movie was therefore sort of "extended"

We were famished when the movie ended. Didn't buy food into the theater, we could hear each other's stomach growling. LOL. Overall, the movie was quite okay, except that it was too draggy at the front part.

Headed to Soup Spoon for late lunch! We have been craving for it the longest time!! :D had meatless minestrone as per normal and B had pumpkin soup.

Went back to school after that for CCA! Had cup noodles with my friend straight after the soup, felt so full!! It was Project-Oritz the next day~

Hello!! Met up with Brenda BB on a Saturday, original plan was to catch Transformers movie but there wasn't any suitable time slot for us :( Thus, it was a shopping and pig out date!! LOL.. We really ate like pigs that day, massive amounts of food!! hehe.. There goes, we started off at Din Tai Fung for lunch!! Had Xiao Long Baos, Xiao Cai and some Vegetable Buns. Didnt enjoy the buns though, the skin was not to my liking, so much for being a chef recommended dish...

Then we proceeded to Breadtalk for bread!! it was during the anniversary week, and we bought 10 buns together, 5 buns each. B had her chocolate croissant after we paid.

continued to stroll for a while before we saw people crowding round outside for free roses!! LOL. The roses were gone in less than 3 minutes, seriously.. Remaining roses were the 'not-so-pretty' ones. B got a red rose for her mama, i got none. Back into JP, there was a new Takoyaki shop opened in JP, it's the one that always has long queue at Ion Orchard. B got a Red bean Taiyaki to try. I took on my chocolate croissant too as we walked on..
After Taiyaki, we went for desserts at Ji De Chi!! We took a long time to decide, and we ended up asking the waitress for recommendations. We ordered a hot and cold dessert from the waitress' recommendations, we got Durain shaved ice dessert and a white fungus with papaya dessert.

Being durian lovers, we were both excited about eating the durain dessert. We were fearful that the durain ice will taste artificial and awful. In my opinion, it is always the extreme end of awful or delightful for such desserts.
To our surprise, the durain dessert tasted HEAVENLY!! The ice was finely shaved and the texture was so smooth that it felt as if we were having ice cream!! There were fresh Pomelo pups and fresh durain flesh placed at the sides of the bowl too. Awesome much!! :D
On contrary, the white fungus papaya dessert was a disappointment. It didn't taste really good. It tasted like white fungus, papaya in sweet liquid. It wasn't too enjoyable for us :(

After dessert, it was shopping time, we bought shoes!! Cheap shoes!! Happy with our buys, B had cravings for 甜不辣 (Taiwanese Tempura) from Shihlin Taiwanese Street Snack. Camwhored while she ate her Tempura. Unglam max!! but we had fun!!

Then, we headed for some bread and toast from Toastbox!! Tried the Heibi Hiam (Spicy Dried Shrimp) soft buns while B had Chocolate toast!! Nothing really great about both orders, but we were satisfied as long as it's bread!! XD

Right after eating toast, B ate her pork floss bun!! The girl really loves eating bread!! lol. Went to Watsons to get her a bathroom scale and homed!
We were both super bloated after that day, ate soo much food!! LOL. But I did not regret it cause of the company and delicious food! i still love to eat <33 Still eating a lot now and it really makes me happy. Glad to be me and not some model or celebrity who needs to control their diet 24/7 to look perfect and be the envy of everyone. (: WTH, i'm feeling hungry again now.. Lunch time!! Sigh, projects are driving me crazy!! @#$%$!! Just gotta ENDURE!!

Obsession in Bread!!

Hello! have been really tied cos of school work!! It's the toughest period of the semester, we have soo many assignments crashing down on us. Our stress levels are at their peaks too.. MISERABLE US! :(( Life still goes on though, just have to endure for another 2 months, and we shall get our well-deserved break!!

I'm in great trouble!! Apart from the never ending assignments, i've developed an obsession in buying and eating bread!! I used to not like eating bread so much as I get sick of eating bread easily and cause "they make me fat." But now, I'm totally in love with eating bread!! I seriously suspect that it is due to Miss Brenda, who loves eating bread a lot! she has successfully influenced me to loving bread too!!

We are really bread maniacs, partially because of the recently-ended crazy bun sale by Breadtalk. They were celebrating their 11th anniversary and were selling buns at just $1.10 each, and 10 buns for $10. The promotion was on for a short period of 6 days, from 9th July to 14th July. Within the SIX days, I visited and bought buns THRICE! twice with Miss B and the other time with Miss C. We shared 10 buns amongst ourselves, 5 buns each!! yeap, that was how crazy i went. Most importantly, the buns were all eaten solely by ourselves!! pork floss buns, cheese sticks, chocolate croissants, swiss rolls etc etc.. It was an achievement for us, or at least for me :p

I've never thought that I would fall so deeply in love with breads up till now. I can have bread for every meal and forgo rice and noodles.. See how serious it is?? LOL. hopefully i return to normal soon since the promotion is over, but still... you don't need a sale/ reason to eat bread!! hehe :DD more updates soon I hope, good night!

Hello!! Have been really 'busy' these few weeks that i forgot about blogging... Sigh, as the title suggests, Abundant = plenty of school work + plenty of stress = Plenty of eating and eating and eating and shortage of exercising... FML.. I practically eat everything and anything that I want, whereas people around me are all falling ill and all because of the stress. The amount i eat is massive compared to theirs, sigh, i'm mad greedy! hehe..

I don't really care now... since eating my favourite food really cheers me up!! teehee.. Plus, I'm in need of a food buddy now, since my current one has 'left me' :(

DUMB!! lol. My data plan does not work too, and i have no idea what could be the reason. Most importantly, it is really difficult to camwhore with the phone!! OMG!! T.T sigh, owning a smart phone isn't so easy afterall.. :( Till then!! bb!

Hello! Just to dedicate this post to my favourite fruit! The Pineapple!! "Who lives in the pineapple under the sea?" -Spongebob Square pants!! teehee!! I adore most fruits generally, but recently, I've developed a liking for pineapple recently, it's kind of weird but it's true!! I can have pineapple everyday after my meals! That's how much I like eating pineapples! I just had a piece of pineapple before doing up this post ~

I searched up on some interesting facts and benefits of pineapples.

1) Pineapples are excellent sources of vitamins A and C, as well as potassium, calcium, iron and more...

2) Pineapples are rich in enzyme bromelain which helps us in digestion (especially protein) and protects us from indigestion.

3) Fresh pineapples should not be put in gelatin/ jelly, as enzyme bromelain in the fruit breaks down protein, it also preventing gelatin from setting.

4) Enzyme bromelain present in pineapples made it an effective meat tenderizer in cooking

5) Its high fiber content is not only helpful in digestion, but also lowers cholesterol and boosting the immune system against illnesses.

6) Pineapple has anti-inflammatory properties that relieves inflammatory joint pains.

7) Pineapples contain high content of aspartic acid. It serves as an amino acid in our body thus helping the body's metabolic processes.

8) It takes about 18 months for a pineapple to grow.

Lunch at Ikea!

Hello! Had a quick but satisfying lunch with Mei mei at Ikea just this afternoon. hehe. Since nobody had the time to accompany me, my sister did!! Had a really quick lunch as I had make up class for piano lesson. We arrived and left the place in an hours' time!! but we ordered so much food!! hehe, it was nice talking to mei mei, it has been a long time since the 2 of us went out and dine together. Just the 2 of us.. Mei's currently working hard for her exams while I'm also struggling to survive my assignments.. sigh, i guess thats school life for us... Looking forward to long vacation!!

Tried the mushroom soup as recommended by mei and boy!! It was really SUPERB!! the soup was served with a piece of bread and a small container of butter. i'm so gonna get the soup in my future visits to Ikea!! Yay!!

Dinner with Bestie

hello! met up with bestie just recently, it has been a long time and i'm glad that we are both well and good! Dinner date with bestie at Paya Lebar Singpost near to her work place. No 2 weeks holidays for bestie.

Dinner was at Nihon Mura. The food was so cheap!! I like! The bill of a vegetable miso soup, a green tea and 5 plates of sushi totaled up to just $14. hehe. Caught up a bit during dinner!!

Went to Waffle Factory for dessert despite my exploding stomach. Tried the Apple Cinnamon Waffle! It tasted okay in my opinion. Promised bestie that we shall be back for more food. hehe.

Shopping at NTUC after that, walked around the supermarket for a while before heading home.

Hello! This week is ending too soon!! Argh, and school is reopening after this week. ): sigh, back to endless projects and assignments. but before that, today is a stay-home day again with my jie jie. WHEE! couch potatoes and endless snacking!!

It's been quite some time since my family and I attended a wedding dinner together!! So we were duper excited when we were given a table at the wedding banquet. A table of 10 seats all to ourselves!! :) My granny, parents, sisters, aunt and uncle, together with my cousins and I occupied the table to ourselves. Awesome much!

Before we entered the ballroom, we took some pictures at the main reception.

To be honest, we were not well acquainted with the host of the banquet, thus we felt a lil awkward when we were greeted by them. Thankfully it was the job of the elders, hehe. After being greeted by the hosts, we were led to our table in the ballroom!! The service by the banquet servers were quite good. Upon sitting down, they would help to put the napkin on your lap and enquire about your choice of drinks. most of them can only speak and understand mandarin though.

we were all feeling famished by the time when food was served. The food were served really LATE and the banquet ended super LATE as well. The 1st dish was served at about 08:44PM.

First up, appetizer: Suckling Pig Combination (Suckling Pig Skin, Pi Pa Prawns, Spring Rolls, Jelly Fish and Wasabi Scallops)

The jelly fish tasted weird and the wasabi scallops were kinda unique, the rest were okay..

Next up, Braised Shark's Fin Soup with Fresh Crabmeat and Conpoy (conpoy as in dried scallop in Cantonese i assume)

Needless to say, this was awesome together with vinegar and pepper. The bottle of pepper on our table was empty though, the seal at the bottom was even missing. LOL. Had it changed by the server eventually.

Third dish, Crispy Roast Chicken with Prawn Crackers and Fragrant Salt

Another no fail dish, then again, this could be one of their signature dishes as we recalled having it too when we attended previous wedding banquets held at the same venue.

Fourth dish, Steamed Sea Garoupa with Wolfberry and Ginger.

The fish tasted okay. But granny had opinions on the way the server 'dismantled' the fish. LOL. She was complaining that the server should have cut the head of the fish last instead of cutting it at the beginning before the body parts.

Next up: Sauteed Fresh Prawns and Asparagus with XO sauce in Quail's Nest

Average tasting dish. Poor granny could only eat the 'quail's nest' as she was having some skin allergies.

It was photo taking time with the bride and groom after the dish!! As mentioned, we ain't well acquainted with them, so, felt kinda weird too. But they would still have our blessings!! :)

Back to food, following the prawns, the next dish was Eight Treasures Duck!

It was a duck stuffed with 8 different ingredients, such as chestnuts, gingko nuts... The duck was really soft and tender, i like!

Off to toilet break with mei mei!!

By the time we were back, another dish was served. it was the Braised Abalone with Mushrooms and Tender Vegetables.

Only had picture of it on my plate! Tasted good, and my cousins love the abalone. LOL.

The final dish before desert was Lotus Leaf Rice with Mushrooms, Lotus Seeds and Dried Shrimp!

I liked this dish very much!! OMG! the rice was so soft and savoury!! LOVE IT

Others do not agree with me though, they dislike it a lot. LOL, i have weird tastebuds huh.

The dessert- Chilled Avocado Pudding!

This was another dish that I adore very much!! Served with coffee ice cream, this dessert is really the best! I love the pudding as well!! Yummy!!

As this dessert was not well received by the elders, we had tons of leftovers and my cousin decided to be the hero and eat it all up!! LOL. crazy guy!! As if he was filming the show: Man VS Food. LOL.

We stopped him eventually though, who would bear to see a skinny person forcing himself to eat such a massive amount of pudding. LOL.

By the time the banquet ended, it was already 11:05pm. so late right, and we ate so much!! fattening ttm! XD

Crashed into bed straight when we were home.

Bugis with Brenda!!

Hello!! I'm thoroughly enjoying my holidays currently, which is definitely necessary before I overheat and explode. hehe. Have been gaining weigh already in fact, teehee. Life don't feel so bleak to me now at least, I feel more joyful now.

okay, today's entry... Brenda and I rocked Bugis once again!! and nope, we do not feel sick of it as long as we are with each other XD she's been a really good friend to me, going on impromptu dinner/ movie/ study and shopping dates. Have been watching movies very often recently, up till now I have caught: Pirates of the Caribbean; On Stranger Tides, Ladaland and The Hangover Part II. hehe, awesome much :)

Iluma for lunch before heading to Bugis Street for shopping. Had Manhattan Fish Market for the 1st time!! My first try, not B's. Had wanted to try the Korean Restaurant next to it, but since MFM was highly recommended by her, we dined there. They had student set meals at only around $7!! it was a super good deal, a main course and free flow of drinks.

B had her favourite Fish & Chips while I had Chicken Liberty. took pictures while waiting for our food.. Lighting was horrible!!

We both liked our orders! I liked mine cause the rice was really good and tasty. So nice that I finished the rice!!

Hello!! The Tuesday which I dread is coming to an end. In fact, it is way beyond my expectations! My Tuesday was incredibly AWESOME! I PASSED MY DRIVING TEST FINALLY AT THE 5TH ATTEMPT!! It's really 丢脸 I know, hate to admit it but it's an undeniable fact..... Oh well, was supposed to fail this time as well actually, hehe. Lucky me :)) and i actually enjoy talking to strangers who are near to me. haha, i'm a friendly girl!

Most importantly, I felt so glad to have my team mates who were so accommodative to me! I was absent for group discussion and they were kind enough to fill me in with the details when I met up with them.

Shopped for kitchen and food toys at Kiddy Palace after which, then, IMPROMPTU MOVIE DATE!! omg, group discussion turned shopping and movie date. haha, crazy max!! Caught Ladaland, a Thai horror movie. Thought that the storyline was weak though...

After movie, it was dinner at Din Tai Fung!! Tried xiao cai for the first time and boy, it was da bomb!! Will definitely order it the next time! Not forgetting the famous xiao long bao and fried rice!! Plus a braised tofu = Satisfying to the max! hehe...

Late night shopping and home!! quite a pleasant Tuesday i must say... Teehee.. *Yawns... i'm drained..* bye!! Phone call from Lovely granny and mei mei melted my heart <333 and papa mama with jie jie!!

Ikea with the girls!

Hello!! It's the start of the 2 weeks 'holiday'!! with inverted commas cause it's not a real holiday, tons of group projects to clear during this period :(( Depressing!!!

Anyways, went to Ikea with the girls on a Tuesday for half priced meat balls!! Whee!! i know that i'm really slow, I didn't know about this offer until 3 weeks ago? SLOW TTM! the 'promotion' started since August last year? and it will be ending this July :(( only got to realise it so late... sigh..

okay, ikea for lunch after school with the girls- Brenda, Gabby and Cynthia!! The last time we went there together was... Last year during June, so we revisited the place TOGETHER almost exactly 1 year later. hehe.. We ordered 2 plates of meatballs and a child sized pasta each, while C had a salmon set as she didn't feel for meatballs that day.. No pictures of food as we were famished, food was gobbled up in a flash. LOL. Sadly, C had to leave after lunch and so, it was left with the 3 of us..

Flea with Brenda!

Attended a flea market with Brenda on 14th May at the Singapore Flyer. It was my first time attending a flea market there as I was afraid of getting lost if I went alone. hehe. and in the end, we really got kinda lost together because of me :p We had to walk all the way from City Hall to the Sg Flyer, which was not quite near... All because of me, yes!! I suck at directions, i can get lost easily!! Lucky thing is that my friend(s) are always understanding!! that's a blessing for me at least :)) So pictures of our long walk to the flyer!! And i realised that the scenery is AWESOME!! didn't know that we have such breathtaking view here in Sg. Okay, i admit that I take things for granted at times....

Arrived at the flyer eventually, we had no idea where to go initially, thus, we followed the crowd~ Glad that we were able to find the place after our much effort put in to get there. And boy, the place was practically filled to the brim! Both of us were overstimulated by the crowd! Despite that, we braved on through the crowd, and we spent about 2 hours there. To our disappointment, we did not manage to buy many things, Our loots- B: A polka dot chiffon top and 2 rings while I got 1 pair of high-waisted shorts and 1 ring. Yeah, so little, cause the crowd was really horrible, we were both a lil turned off.

B and I left the flea feeling dizzy due to the "lack of oxygen" aka "too much carbon dioxide". Woah, hated the crowd, honestly.. guess it would have been better if the flea was conducted in an open area, but it's beyond my control... hehe. Went for "high tea" at the Food Trail! It was introduced and reviewed by magazines/ newspapers, therefore, we decided to give it a try. The ambiance of place was so old school and nostalgic, felt that it was quite cool. The stalls, cutleries and decoration of the place were all of the retro style. Good point is that the place was kept cool, with air conditioners/ fans and good air ventilation.

Food that we ordered: Century egg with pork porridge (mine) and popiahs (had a portion each), Sugar cane juice (Brenda's)!! My porridge costs: $3, Popiah: $2 each
Verdict: The food was an okay, average, not spectacular imo. Average food at steep prices. A very apt description.. haha. Was a nice experience though, wouldn't mind dining there again.

Continued to take pictures along the way and I suggested to cross over The Helix Bridge over to Marina Centre. I've been wanting to 'explore' the place for ages out of curiosity, and Brenda was kind enough to oblige to my wish :) Thank you!! More pictures along the way and we made our way to The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands!

Magnificent and huge shopping mall with an ice skating rink in the middle. House of top branded brands of apparels, watches, accessories, eye wear, shoes etc etc..... Not forgetting restaurants, cafe, candy shops etc... Even the food court was completely "atas", the prices of the food were sky high, and we were sure glad that we ate at The Food Trail before exploring the shoppes @ MB.

We were completely drained by the end of the day after walking so much!! Dreaded the thought of crossing over the bridge again and walking back to Marina Square, which we did eventually. Trained home and ended our day of outing together.

A few days later... We went our again for a movie!! Caught Fast & Furious 5! Quite enjoyed the story but the only thing was that I thought the movie was a bit too long. Maybe it's just me. Brenda bought a fake LongChamp bag so that we could sneak in snacks from NTUC. LOL <3 that silly girl!!

Mother's Day 2011 (part 2)

Hello! I'm back for more updates on my Mother's Day Celebrations! Part 2 now! This will be a short one as it was a mini celebration held in our house just with the 5 of us around. Granny went out to stayover at my aunts' place.

We were caught a dilemma in deciding whether to dine out or to cook at home, the decision changed a few times before we decided to eat at home!! Being 乖小孩s, mei mei and I decided to whip up dinner!! hehe. We decided on a few dishes of vegetarian food as mommy loves them. The maid was in charge of boiling the soup though. hehe. Shopping at NTUC Finest for the ingredients! The dishes which were on the menu that night: Vegetable salad, stir-fried dou miao, assorted vegetable with egg tofu, sweet and sour pork (vegetarian style) and tomato soup.

Was glad that we manage to serve yummy dinner without causing any disaster in the kitchen. haha. And we invited the maid to sit at the table with us for dinner!! we could tell that she felt so happy!! hehe. So happy that the dishes were eaten up by all of us.

After dinner, it was cake cutting time!! My sisters were so high singing Jay Chou's song: 听妈妈的话。Ordered the cake from Patissier Glace, yummy strawberry swiss roll infused with collagen. A delicious and light cake for all!! :)) We sure had an enjoyable time although it was just a mini celebration!! (Not many photos cause my dad was topless :p)

Today is also the Dragon Boat Festival!! Granny, mommy and aunts are all preparing 粽子(glutinous rice dumplings) now. hehe.. Time to stuff ourselves silly with dumplings in the following days/ weeks/ months! LOL.. Enjoy your 粽子 too!!

I like my Friday today!! My day went quite well except for my afternoon...

Morning: Met my tall and sexy cousin at the bus stop on the way to school. Caught up a lil with him and best thing was that he helped to carry my lappie. teehee..

Plus attendance marked although I was about 10 minutes late? Yipee!!

Afternoon: Group meeting plus lunch @ Makan Place. Had porridge plus some dishes from the economic rice store + a cup of barley = diarrhea :(( As a result, my group mates waited for about 20 minutes for me? So paiseh!! :p

Night: Dim Sum for supper at 10pm is LOVE!! Had chee cheong fun, century egg congee, la mian, prawn and egg hor fun, dou hua and barley water. Shared with my parents w/o my sisters <33 Supper after exercising is definitely the best!! We did HEADSTAND!! lol, crazy ttm!! haha. Happiness in my tummy now!!
I know it doesn't sound really fantastic but... I have no idea why I wanted to blog about this so much!! :) whee!! Bye!
